The five piece band was dressed in leather,some genuine leather trousers and high sport-motorcycle racing boots, and leather waistcoats with cut sleeves, in regards these boots De Majo's with metal rings bootembedded ,turn on many from crowded down to arena,later,as much as the trademark of the two crossed hands, just made it from stage by De Majo, the loyal and subdued audience underneath immediately took care from him to imitate and follow by lifting up the crossed hands with the known pulp on the left hand's wrist.
In front of the entrance gate,in the concentrated crowd I saw some stupids who were aged over 35,40 years old without special thread, without long hair, completely straight easy characters but they were holding in their arms some archaic swords with wide blade and carved handle, similar moovie sword like conan the barbarian cine character.
While most of the security guards did not allow them to take the swords inside the concert venue (idiots as 90/100 intellectual limit), but eventually inside the concert venue 4-5 of them also 50-year-olds with gray hair have achieved to manage to bring into the concert plot such swords and creep them in the air.during concert some special old songs
About De Majo festive speech(at the end) regards to audience,while the official set list of the concert was over, said about keeping epic alive as,after of metal show entertainment not getting into the reality , and not mess with real life after show, seems this guy feels like politician mind.
Now about the ticket price, the blame is that was too mutch expencive, the price of 45 euros was very crackbrained, cause,regards the Greek residents salaries witch are about 450 to 500 hundred euros,(the working class salaries), was a very fucking high price, the reason is that the whole party was a complete festival, and Manowar were the headliners of that day ,so, before Manowar's show, the rest were acting other 3 top bands,but Manowar was the main attraction the reason people reached to Faliron plot ,the pole traction for greek epic metal fanatics,so they forced to pay these 45 euros.
The last support band was "Rhapsody Of Fire" or Rhapsody,and after a big delay ,one hour and a half (after 90' minutes) Manowar 's circus appeared on stage, this time (todays 2019) the scene was a real theater,the sceneries were 'rocks' like a mountain slope, and on the top of these clifs were standing armed warriors with helmet shield and swords, this is positive and i believe it worth the 45 euros ticket price.,at rhe stage were three or four diferent sceneries, from where the bands members entered or came out to the backstage space. Thats the big band's advantage , with these sceneries tools rise the theatricality, stimulates higher the audiences fantasy
The band's entry came in the familiar heroic way, like that was 27 years ago in the of Peace and Friendship indoor Hall, they announced as a commodity from America with a parole "Lady's and Gentlemen from the United States of America Manowar" like a deep, old man voice similar of Orson Waeles.
Also because their tournament is an announcement for their new upcoming album, they played the orchestral intro "March Of The Heroes Into Valhalla" from this year's brand new EP "The Final Battle I" (basically for small consumer countries like Turkey Serbia Greece super bands played an "al-time Manowar Hits"and for wide market countries , show changes and promote their latest new songs)....!! at the top of sceneries warriors with helmets-shields and swords standed and changed poses like to prepare for some ultimate battle,down at the scene floor band dressed in leather acted
Although I do not hold the setlist tracks, but somewhat accidentally the well-known song "Brothers Of Metal" was very well attributed for outdoor live acoustics, also the heavy and classic trademark from 80's (84) -'Blood of My Enemies'-, was very true like in vinyl then, interpretation was played a role by the singer who is evergreen singer40 years ago, and somewhere else between other songs something from "Manowar Hollywood Era" (at 88), the aggressive -"Hail and Kill"- was very well attributed,feel like you were back at the time issued the 'Kings Of Metal' album, with all the airs and graces from these days, sorrounded by strong MTV and Vanessa Warwick as commentator, Hair Metal movement to his Majesty,printed magazins 'Metal Maniacs' 'British Metal Hammer' and other memories
guitarists witch placed as band members for this tourney were Swedish veteran 'Anders Johanson' and a young Brazilian E.V. Martel that explains the pretty good sound and faithfulness to the original hearings as at the the old album .
As well someone old collaborator of Manowar, Joe Rozler, who was used from their management regards his studio recordings in the period 2001 up to 2010 . "The sound was so careful that songs performances were so perfect and impeccable that the qualitative difference at the sound was immediately apparent if we comparedfrom the last band before the Rhapsody
However, the "big press" and the newspapers of our state as well as, and major FM radios did not cover the concert campaign one week before ,as they would have done,like with other pop bands, this kind of concert and especially the appearance of Manowar was deliberately ignored as something devastating and hostile against mainstream
